Good Times, Great Beer, Tasty Food

About Us

The craft beer community has been a huge part in founders Ryan & Jacque’s lives – it is even how they met! Since being brought together by the craft beer world they have dreamed of starting their own brewpub. The dream started, two kids were born, and a lot of life was lived in between but a relocation to Atascadero in 2018 was the start of bringing this dream to reality.

Wild Fields Brewhouse is a local brewpub crafted as a comfortable space for beer lovers and families alike. Ryan’s passion and art for making world-class high-quality brews shines and is complimented by a fun homestyle pub-grub food menu. Our facility includes mini-bowling lanes (fun fact: our building was a bowling alley in it’s past life), arcade games, foosball, air hockey and a toddler corner. If you love beer, we’ve got that. If you have kids, we’ve got you covered. If you’re a kid at heart, don’t worry the arcades are for adults too!

Ryan Fields

Ryan Fields

Co-Founder and head brewer Ryan Fields began his journey into beer in 2008. Ryan moved from his hometown of Templeton on the Central Coast to study Physics at UC San Diego where he fell in love with the craft beer industry. After earning a B.S. in Physics, Ryan decided to pursue brewing as a career path. For the next 10 years, he honed his craft at Lost Abbey/Port Brewing, Pizza Port San Clemente and Beachwood Blendery. Ryan has won medals time and time again while cultivating a following of customers and industry professionals alike. His brewing style is a blend of science and art, which is the perfect intersection for this creative soul. When he’s not brewing beer, you will probably find Ryan playing music or adventuring along the coast, all while being Dad to two wild kiddos. Ryan and his wife, Jacque, are excited to add an excellent craft beer destination to their thriving Central Coast community.

Jacque Fields

Jacque Fields, Wild Fields Co-Founder and President, has been an integral part of the craft beer industry since 2006. At the beginning of her career Jacque worked at Beachwood BBQ, where she spent 6 years sharing her vast knowledge of all things fermented with craft beer fanatics. In 2013, she relocated to work at Pizza Port, where she spent her time becoming even more entrenched in the industry. While there, she was active in building community awareness through promotion, special events, and industry outreach. Jacque earned her Bachelor’s Degree during this time from University of California Irvine in Social Ecology concentrated in Community Development and a minor in Community Engagement. Jacque went into the nonprofit world and focused on customer relations, quality assurance and program development working her way up to Associate Director of Community-Based Programs. The wealth of industry knowledge Jacque built at Beachwood BBQ and Pizza Port, plus her non-profit experience at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County and the Inland Empire, eventually led to a position as the Executive Director of the Orange County Brewers Guild. All of these experiences in the craft beer industry led her here - helping to bring her and her husband, Ryan's, vision of owning a family-friendly brewpub to the Central Coast. She’s gotten creative during this pandemic and has hosted drive-in movie nights, used the brewery as a “commissary” when the stores were out of all the things, and even did family style to-go meals! Jacque is the 2023 Board Chair for the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce, a Board Member for the Central Coast Brewers Guild, and is the mastermind behind our amazing food items! When she isn't chasing around her two fantastic kids, Jacque can be found making jewelry, enjoying live music, and finding ways to make her community a healthier, happier and more vibrant place.

Kayla Morrow

Meet Kayla Morrow, Assistant Brewer at Wild Fields Brewhouse. Kayla’s craft beer journey began right after she turned 21 and her roommate at the time was a bartender at a Santa Cruz brewery, Kayla became a fast regular and began delve into the possibility that she may have a home and career in the beer industry. For the next three years she jumped around beer adjacent settings in wineries, cideries and distilleries gaining bartending and production experience and looking for opportunities in beer. So when Wild Fields opened up she thought ‘This is my chance and its in my home town, its meant to be.” Hired on as a beertender, Kayla was excited to finally be working with beer when four months into the brewery opening, the pandemic hit. While worried about what this might mean for her future Kayla learned to just roll with the punches and stuck with Jacque and Ryan as the brewery had to navigate those wild times. When things began to get back to normal and the need for the brewery to ramp up production became eminent, the opportunity arose for Kayla to start to learn the brewing side of the business.  Now her days are filled with gravity readings, dry hopping and asking Head Brewer Ryan any question she can think of to try and learn all she can about the awesome world of beer and brewing. When she isn’t in the brewery, you can still find her beertending at Wild Fields from time to time, as well as enjoying a cold one off the clock at one of the other great breweries or beer gardens SLO county has to offer. She also enjoys crafting, reading, and spending time with friends and family outside of work.
